Got questions? We got answers!

1) WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Almost everything! Not only do we take care of the not so fun stuff, like reservations and on the ground transportation, but we always connect our travelers with beautiful, locally owned boutique hotels in central Oaxaca and a 300 year old ex-hacienda in the countryside. Our “amigos locales” are the greatest trip hosts in the world, amazing cooking classes with chefs from local villages, guided tours with our archeologist “amigo” of cultural sites Monte Alban and Mitla and we’ll be invited into local homes, cemeteries and villages to celebrate with our local “amigos”. We cover it all. You just have to cover some meals and the amazing souvenirs you’re going to bring back!

3) DOESN’T MEZCAL COME FROM THERE?

Yeeeeees! It sure does and we will be enjoying plenty of it. Our “amigos” have contacts at amazing mezcal farms where we will learn about the process from local experts and sample the wares, as well. If we feel like it, we can jump in the back of a pickup truck after lunch and mezcal tastings to visit a petrified waterfall. We’ll also be able to visit the coolest craft cocktail bars in Oaxaca to enjoy the amazing creations.

5) IS THERE INTERNET?

For sure! The internet works very well when you connect to WiFi hotspots or in our hotel. You probably won’t have it walking around (unless you purchase a data plan with your carrier before the trip), though but it’s nice to unplug on vacation, right??

7) WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE?

Average weather in October is low 80s F during the day and lows are in the 50S F. There is some chance of warm, tropical rains. As the date nears, it is best to check your weather app to get more specific temperatures.

2) What exactly is a photography focused trip?

We’ve added some incredible photography walks/workshops with Joe and Maddie Greer. They’ll be with us the entire week to hang out and talk shop about photography and three times during the trip they will be leading photo walks to really practice and sharpen your photography skills. It’s an amazing opportunity to bounce questions off of them, ask for examples all while shooting shoulder to shoulder with two really great photographers. Plus, we’ve worked with them twice before and they are super kind and easy to talk to people. They’re great to travel with!

4) SO GROUP TRAVEL, EH??

We know what you’re thinking…am I going to like traveling with people I don’t know?? We have been doing this for the past 7 years now and the answer, every time, is YES! When else as an adult can you meet a group of people all with one very major thing in common, the love of travel?! We have introduced a ton of new best friends, romantic relationships, a couple who is applying for a fiancé visa and even an engagement. We forget in this technology filled day and age that people like being around people. Also, there is plenty of time for relaxing and solo time built into our itinerary in case you need to recharge! We’ve got all the angles covered.

6) WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE?

Average weather in September is low 80s F during the day and lows are in the 50s F. There is some chance of warm, tropical rains. As the date nears, it is best to check your weather app to get more specific temperatures.

8) WHAT MAKES OAXACA SO SPECIAL?

Great question! First off, we will be visiting during Day of the Dead, which is an amazing and beautiful cultural experience. The Oaxaca area is actually where Day of the Dead originated, so the festival there is the best in Latin America. Oaxaca is also jam packed with amazing food, booze, arts and crafts. The local scenes are incredible and our “amigos” bring us to the best of the best that Oaxaca has to offer. It’s increíble!

We got you. Check out photos from some of our past trips:
